Colorado Springs police identify victim in Alpine Currant View shooting

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) identified the victim in a shooting on the north side of town as 26-year-old Kymir Williamson.

On September 25, police received a call from a woman claiming that she was about to be attacked by a male she just met so she shot him before leaving the scene.

Officers contact the woman in her vehicle at a local hospital. Based on further information she provided police located a deceased male in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 6900 block of Alpine Currant View.

According to CSPD, after an interview, the woman was released.

The El Paso County Coroner’s Office completed the autopsy of the deceased male, who has been identified as 26-year-old Kymir Williamson, a resident of Colorado Springs. CSPD says that Williamson’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
