Springs City Council declares June as Bike Month

June was declared as Bike Month by the Colorado Springs City Council last month, so several events are happening around the city that local bikers can appreciate.

A Resolution passed on May 24 stating, “Declaring June ‘Bike Month in Colorado Springs’ will raise awareness of cycling’s positive impact on the economy, health, wellness and the creation of viable transportation options in the City, and will celebrate the contributions bicycle-related businesses, non-profit organizations and volunteers make to support cycling in Colorado Springs.”

Ways that you can get involved in Bike Month include:

June 10-Dec. 21- Roll Bicycle Art Festival
June 18-21 Annual Starlight Spectacular
June 22- Bike to Work Day sponsored by Metro Rides and YMCA. Bikes and Bagels at 10 YMCA locations from Monument to Fountain and University Village Center.
June-September- National Bike Challenge

PopCyle Rides: Sundays, 1-3 p.m. through Aug. 28. Meet at America the Beautiful Park
Pedal Station Grand Opening Celebration at 527 S. Tejon, noon-8 p.m.
Pedal Station Volunteer Fix-it Night, Tuesdays 4 p.m.-8 p.m.

UpaDowna Pedal Party

Every Wednesday evening June through September

Meadows Park Community Center Bike Library Rides and Events
