Mild temperatures Friday and strong winds Saturday

Strong winds and mountain snow heading into the weekend.

TODAY: Mainly sunny, mild and breezy conditions ahead for Friday afternoon. High temperatures will top out in the upper-50s and low-60s and winds will continue to pick up during the afternoon.

TONIGHT: A High Wind Watch goes into affect at 9 pm tonight. West winds will be sustained at 30 to 40 mph and gusting as high as 50 mph. Snow will begin to fall overnight in mountains, and blowing snow may make travel in the high country treacherous.

EXTENDED: Strong winds and cool temperatures Saturday. Chances for any precipitation remains very low for southern Colorado. Highs Saturday afternoon will be in the upper-40s to the mid-50s. A strong ridge of high pressure builds through next week and high temperatures will climb into the 70s!
