Town of Morrison, Lakewood subdivision under pre-evacuation for Hogback Fire
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- There are numerous pre-evacuation orders in place in Jefferson County due to a wildfire burning in the area.
According to Jefferson County officials, the entire Town of Morrison is under pre-evacuation due to a fast-growing fire burning near Alameda and C470 as of 2:44 p.m.
Residents and visitors of the Town of Morrison should be ready to evacuate.
The fire is called the Hogback Fire and has also forced pre-evacuation in Lakewood.
According to the Lakewood Police Department, there is a pre-evacuation for the Solterra Subdivision of Lakewood. This means this fire hazard in your area may require you to evacuate in the near future.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, this is the area that lies east of CO Hwy. 8 south to US 285.
The sheriff's office said there's a brush fire along the hogback of south I-70. Smoke is visible in the area of I-70 and C-470.
Highway 93 is closed from I-70 to Morrison.
Five agencies have responded to the fire.
