Fatal crash closes westbound Highway 50 at Purcell in Pueblo West
UPDATE: The road was reopened around 6:40 p.m. Wednesday.
PUEBLO WEST, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado State Patrol tells us its investigating a fatal crash involving two vehicles Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened around 3:52 p.m., killing one person and sending another to the hospital with injuries, says CSP.
The westbound lanes of Highway 50 were closed at Purcell Boulevard around 4 p.m. due to the accident, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

A spokesman with CSP tells us westbound Highway 50 is still closed as of 6:10 p.m. and they hope to reopen the road within a couple hours.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. CSP was not able to provide any further details at the time of publication.
