COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Five years after the killing of a man on Acapulco Court in southeast Colorado Springs, police say they've arrested two people for first-degree murder.

CSPD said Wednesday that 40-year-old Lisa Deboer and 43-year-old Rodric Donley were arrested Tuesday in connection with the shooting of Jamarlon Keys on Oct. 7, 2014.

Jamarlon Keys was a former Fort Carson soldier. His family says he moved back to Colorado Springs after a deployment in Iraq.

Police said Keys, 31, was found with a gunshot wound in the 900 block of Acapulco Court, and he was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Kendra Clayton, a family relative of Keys, says these arrests bring some much needed closure and justice in time for Christmas.

"He was always excited," said Clayton of her older cousin. "He always talked a lot. He was like a big brother to us. He always looked out for us, making sure we wasn't doing anything we weren't supposed to do."

El Paso County courts have sealed the arrest affidavits for Deboer and Donley.
