Deceased motorcyclist identified from crash on East Platte Avenue

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The El Paso County Coroner's Office has identified a motorcyclist who died in a crash on East Platte Avenue, east of North Chelton Road on Sep. 2, as 57-year-old Patrick Bendele.

The Colorado Springs Police Department says the crash occurred around 4:40 p.m., and an initial investigation found that a motorcycle was traveling eastbound on East Platte Avenue when it collided with a sedan making a left turn from a frontage road access onto westbound East Platte Avenue.

Bendele was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
