Colorado Veterans Project to host Memorial Day Run & March with Special Forces Foundation
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Veterans Project (CVP), has announced its annual Memorial Day Run & March, in partnership with Special Forces Foundation. Civilians, veterans, and uniformed military are invited to participate in a 5k, 10k or 30k run and march. For an added challenge, participants are encouraged to bring a 25-pound rucksack with non-perishable food items to race with and donate following the run. All participants are invited to bring non-perishable food donations in support of Care & Share Food Bank to help feed local veterans in need.
Those who choose to attempt the 30k with a 25-pound rucksack will have the unique opportunity to earn the Norwegian Foot March Badge, a prestigious award of tactical advancement not commonly available in the U.S.
A virtual participation option is available now through Monday, May 31, where participants will record routes and time details online through RunSignUp.com.
The event starts at 6:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 29th, including the race at 8 a.m. and Freedom Fest from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rocky Mountain Vibes Stadium, UCHealth Park at 4835 Tutt Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO
Colorado Veterans Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that aims to enhance pride and patriotism in all Coloradoans by building a stronger, more supportive community around our veterans. CVP hosts special events to raise awareness and funds for local veterans and veteran organizations.
