COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- May 1st, also known as May Day is International Workers Day. According to a May Day Festival and March event page on Facebook, "The day has its roots in the struggle for an 8 hour work-day. But for many years the US government and capitalist class has tried to obscure the history of class struggle that the day represents. They have declared the day “Law Day” and “Loyalty Day” in an effort to erase the true history."

The post continues, "Despite this, May Day has continued to be a special day for all oppressed people in the US and around the world."

On Saturday, May 1st at Acacia Parkin downtown Colorado Springs, a group will be having a festival and march to fight for a better future. They're calling for passage of the PRO Act, which would be the greatest reform in labor law since the great depression.
