EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Air Force announced Thursday that it is postponing its game at Army due to local coronavirus outbreaks.

The game was scheduled for Saturday but a steady increase in COVID-19 cases at the Air Force Academy and El Paso County forced officials to reconsider.

"We are disappointed to postpone this game, but the health and safety of our cadets, staff and the community continues to be our No. 1 priority at the Academy," said Nathan Pine, the Air Force Director of Athletics.

The rise in cases at the Academy has also paused all intercollegiate team activities, according to the director.
