Bristol Brewing slashing Pumpkin Ale due to COVID-19
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Due to COVID-19, Bristol Brewing will not be able to brew one of their fan favorites this year: the Venetucci Pumpkin Ale.
Brewed with pumpkins from Venetucci Farm every year, proceeds from the beer go to the Pikes Peak Community Foundation. Back in 2006, PPCF acquired Venetucci Farm from then-owners Nick and Bambi Venetucci.
Sam Clark with the Pikes Peak Community Foundation says they will lose out on about $40,000 by missing this fundraiser, but he understands why the pumpkin ale cannot be made.
“I think the loss of the pumpkin ale is definitely a setback, but when we look at the grand scheme of things, the foundation has been really committed to [making] sure businesses and non-profits can weather the economic crisis. So this is the kind of thing we have prepared for,” said Clark.
Bristol Brewing made a statement on Facebook saying: “With the pandemic wreaking havoc on our balance sheet, we just don’t have the resources right now. As you can imagine, this was not an easy decision.”
Bristol Brewing would also go on to say that they plan on coming back even stronger next year, hoping this will be just a one-time bump in the road.
