COVID-19 outbreak reported at Colorado Springs Police Department’s Sand Creek Division

KRDO

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department says three employees in the Sand Creek Division have tested positive for COVID-19.

El Paso County Public Health declared an outbreak at the division because more than two confirmed cases were found within 14 days with "evidence of transmission within the facility."

CSPD says the spread was contained to the Sand Creek Division's investigations unit. The department did say there was contact with the community, but it was "very minimal."

The infected CSPD staffers have been quarantined, and those potentially exposed to them have been isolated or quarantined.
