Health officials in Colorado conduct mask-wearing survey
DENVER - They really are watching you. Groups of volunteers from public health departments in several Colorado counties are working in places like parks and grocery store parking lots to gauge how many people are wearing masks to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
The Colorado Sun reports the project is a quick assessment not meant for scientific scrutiny, but it helps understand human behavior.
The Tri-County Health Department has data going back to April about the percentage of people in Adams, Arapahoe, and Douglas counties who are putting on face coverings.
That could help health officials determine whether a weekly dip in mask-wearing correlates with increasing cases of the coronavirus.
