Colorado Springs fire crews head to East Canyon Fire in southwest Colorado
MONTEZUMA COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Firefighters from Colorado Springs are headed to southwestern Colorado to fight a growing wildfire west of Durango. The East Canyon Fire has grown to 2,568 acres as of Wednesday afternoon and is 1% contained.
In a tweet Wednesday, the Colorado Springs Professional Firefighters Association said crews had left Wednesday morning to fight the fire. Crews from both Colorado Springs Fire Department and Cimarron Hills Fire Department will be gone for up to two weeks, said the association.
