Pursuit that closed I-25 near Pueblo ends with suspect getting tased

csp i25 chase

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- A woman is in custody after a pursuit along I-25 in Pueblo ended with her getting tased by Colorado State Troopers.

The incident began just before 7:30 p.m. when the Colorado State Patrol tried to stop a vehicle that was weaving erratically on I-25 northbound near mile marker 77. The vehicle refused to comply with commands to stop, according to Trooper Lewis.

Ultimately, CSP used stop sticks to get the vehicle to stop at mile marker 91. The woman refused to get out of the car at the troopers' commands, said Lewis. That's when she was tased and taken into custody.

Lewis tells KRDO that no troopers or other civilians were injured. The suspect is in the process of getting medically cleared before charges are filed.

The highway reopened just after 8 p.m.
