Colorado Springs driver arrested for DUI for crash that hospitalized young girl
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A young girl was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a crash at Astrozon and Academy boulevards, and police say the driver responsible was arrested for driving under the influence.
Colorado Springs police say the crash happened around 4 p.m. and lanes on S. Academy were closed for about five hours. A young girl involved in the crash was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, police said.
We're working on getting details about what exactly happened in the crash, but according to a police report, 29-year-old Alyssa Galena was arrested for DUI and vehicular assault.
