Convicted sex offender arrested for alleged sexual assault while driving on Nevada Ave.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Police tell us a suspect has been arrested a woman reportedly escaped from a moving vehicle following a sexual assault Sunday morning in south Colorado Springs.
According to CSPD, the driver of the car was identified as 32-year-old Kenneth Glad, who is a registered sex offender with criminal histories in the Springs and in Florida, according to Department of Justice records. He was convicted in 2010 of unlawful sexual contact with a minor.
The woman says Glad "physically restrained and threatened [her] with a knife," according to the police report. She reported being sexually assaulted inside the vehicle while Glad drove, but she was able to escape when the vehicle slowed down near Cheyenne Road and Fenmoor Place.
The police report says Glad then fled the area east on Cheyenne Road.
An investigator told KRDO that Glad was arrested Monday night and faces charges of kidnapping, sexual assault and menacing. Glad didn't know the victim before the incident.
