Woman escapes sexual assault from a moving car in Colorado Springs, suspect at large
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A bizarre and disturbing sexual assault Sunday morning ended with the victim making her escape from a moving vehicle.
UPDATE: A suspect has been arrested.
It happened at 8:20 a.m. in the area of 1900 S. Nevada Avenue, police say. That's when a suspect approached a woman under the guise of asking for directions and offered her a ride to work.
The woman agreed and got into the suspect's car. Once she was in the car, she was "physically restrained and threatened with a knife," police said in a statement.
Police tell us the victim was sexually assaulted inside the vehicle as the suspect was driving. She was able to escape at some point during the drive when the vehicle slowed down.
The suspect then fled the area eastbound on Cheyenne Road. Police have not released a suspect description at this point, and say there aren't any suspects in custody.
