Aurora police officer finds vehicle stolen from Colorado Springs, shoots at teen suspect
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Police in two Colorado counties are looking for a trio of suspects who allegedly carjacked a woman in Colorado Springs and then got in a shootout with Aurora police.
According to CSPD, the carjacking happened Tuesday evening near E. Kiowa Street and N. Logan Ave. A woman reported that three young adults took her Honda CRV at gunpoint and then fled. The woman wasn't injured during the robbery.
On Wednesday morning, Aurora police reported that an officer fired his weapon at one of the teenagers during a confrontation after finding the suspicious vehicle near the intersection of E. Tennessee Place and E. Tennessee Drive. The teen wasn't struck by gunfire, but was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Police told our partners at 9News that the other two people in the car were believed to be 15-year-old females. They weren't immediately located.
The teenager in custody hasn't been identified, and it's not clear what charges he will face.
