Sgt. Joshua Voth was killed in the line of duty last Wednesday. The Department of Corrections confirmed that an accident involving a boiler explosion claimed Voth's life.

A public memorial will be held at New Life Church in Colorado Springs. It starts at 11 a.m. Friday, and a law enforcement processional will escort the family from Canon City to the church.

Voth is survived by his wife and three children. A Gofundme account has been set up to help the family with funeral expenses.

The explosion incident is still under investigation.
