Colorado congressman Ed Perlmutter has COVID-19
WASHINGTON, D.C., USA (KRDO) — Colorado’s U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter’s office announced he tested positive for COVID-19. Perlmutter is an Arvada Democrat representing the state’s 7th congressional district.
He said he got the diagnosis on Tuesday. “As of now, I am asymptomatic and I’m feeling good,” Rep. Perlmutter said in a statement. “I am currently in Washington D.C. and plan to isolate in my apartment while continuing to work and voting remotely.”
He also said he has been taking coronavirus precautions over the last eight months.
“This serves as an important reminder that this virus is highly contagious and should be taken seriously,” he said. “As we enter the holiday season, I encourage everyone to continue to heed the warnings of no personal gatherings, social distancing, and wearing a mask.”
Rep. Perlmutter was elected for his eight term in the November 3rd election.
