Crews battle car fire in Pueblo West, driver safe

PUEBLO WEST, Colo. (KRDO) -- Friday, crews battled a car fire that shut down a portion of Spaulding Ave. in Pueblo West.

Just before 3 p.m., the Pueblo West Fire Department (PWFD) said crews were on the scene of a vehicle fire near Son Rise Church on Spaulding Ave.

While the fire department battled the flames, eastbound Spaulding Ave. was closed at Abarr Dr. Drivers were asked to avoid the area if possible.

By 3:10 p.m., PWFD said the road was back open.

According to officials, the driver is safe.
