CANON CITY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Royal Gorge Bridge has been open to vehicle traffic since late April, but now the park is set to open in full after the State approved Fremont County's variance Thursday.

A statement from the park sent to KRDO said the tourist attraction will open Friday to the extent allowed under county and State COVID-19 guidelines.

The following attractions are expected to open:

  • The Bridge
  • Zip line
  • Skycoaster
  • Royal Gorge Via Ferrata

Peggy Gair, the park's public relations manager, said the park is ready to welcome guests while keeping safety in mind.

Gair said the park will be regularly sanitizing bathrooms, buildings, and attractions, as well as asking guests to maintain a 6-foot distance.

Park hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Musical entertainment is expected to accompany the reopening.
