Northeast Colorado Springs home is a total loss after fire


COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - Crews responded to reports of a working structure fire just west of N. Powers Blvd. Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD), the fire was located at 5075 Slickrock Dr. No one was at home at the time of the fire but a neighbor suffered minor burns trying to put it out with a garden hose.

CSFD said two people have been displaced as the home is a total loss. The fire was knocked down in 10-15 minutes but took about an hour to completely extinguish, according to the department.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
