Pueblo activists host event to collect feminine hygiene products for homeless women

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Pueblo activists host an event to supply feminine hygiene products to homeless women.

During the "Panty Party," the Pueblo Chapter of the Success Collective, made up of local businesses and female business owners and entrepreneurs, collected new underwear and feminine hygiene products.

In May, the Colorado Springs chapter collected more than 60,000 items, enough to supply 300 homeless women in the Pikes Peak region for an entire year.

“Homeless women are already dealing with so much and finding tampons every month shouldn’t be another thing they have to worry about,” said Christina McCann, facilitator of The Success Collective’s Pueblo Chapter.

The event took place at Ruby's Wine Bar.
