KRDO news crew goes remote to prevent COVID-19 spread

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- You may have noticed that our newscasts look a little different lately, with some of our anchors and reporters broadcasting from home.

You'll see more of this in the coming days and weeks as a large portion of our staff transitions out of the building to a work-from-home setup.

In an effort to be fully transparent, we want to report on our own COVID-19 outbreak in the KRDO newsroom. Friday, we were notified that two employees tested positive for the virus -- this is in addition the another employee we learned about earlier in the week.

The station is undergoing a deep clean, and we're taking every precaution we can to protect our team. Mask-wearing had been mandatory inside the newsroom before the transition, and we continue to focus on cleaning and social distancing as preventative measures in addition to our work from home transition.

We appreciate your understanding during this period.
