It was an icy start to the morning on Thursday, with low temperatures and freezing drizzle.

There was an icy sheen on the roads that proved to be a problem for commuters. A layer of ice blanketed everything, from streets, to sidewalks, to car windshields.

"It's mainly the sidewalks when you're walking around. It's just icy,” said Colorado Springs resident Nico Tablate

Charla Coleman, another southern Colorado resident said, ”It looked like a normal day, so I was just walking to my car and three steps in, I slipped and fell."

Multiple accidents were reported on Colorado Springs' roads, including a slide off onto the median on Union and Montebello.

Crashes also slowed down traffic along I-25 Northbound toward Denver.

It serves as a good reminder to check the weather report, because even though it may look dry outside, the ice may just be hard to see.
