Six people indicted linked to drug trafficking ring in El Paso County

4th Judicial District's Attorney

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A grand jury has indicted six people linked to a drug trafficking operation in El Paso County last year.

Colorado's 4th Judicial District says Oscar Casillas-Vizcarra, Bradley Castillo, Jose Escalante-Enciso and Jesus Soto-Nunez were indicted. Two more defendants have been issued arrest warrants, but officials won't release their identities until the warrants have been served.

According to officials, an investigation started with the Colorado Springs Police Department, and as evidence revealed a larger-scale operation, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) took over.

The District Attorney's office says law enforcement then discovered an alleged drug trafficking organization operating from Mexico across the Pikes Peak region from July to November of 2025. More than 300,000 suspected fentanyl pills, along with large quantities of methamphetamine, heroin, firearms and cash were seized, according to officials.

Officials say the grand jury returned the indictment charging the defendants with numerous charges, including distributing on school grounds, public housing or a school bus, which is a level one drug felony. Other charges included conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and racketeering.

Castillo, Casillas-Vizcarra and Soto-Nunez are all scheduled to appear in court again July 13. Escalante-Enciso is scheduled to appear on August 17.
