PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Two Pueblo men have been indicted by a federal grand jury after an alleged armed robbery in March.

24-year-old Esai Maestas Torres and 49-year-old Mario Lucero were charged with bank robbery, using and brandishing a firearm during a crime, carjacking and illegally possessing ammunition, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Colorado.

According to officials, both men have prior felony convictions and are not allowed to possess firearms.

Officials say Torres and Lucero used firearms to rob a U.S. Bank on Bonforte Boulevard in Pueblo in March. The indictment alleges the two men also used the firearms to commit three carjackings across the city.

According to the Pueblo Police Department, the suspects were handed an undisclosed sum of money by bank staff before fleeing with car keys obtained from a customer in the bank. Both were arrested and booked into the El Paso County Jail.
