Absolutely Colorado: Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office brings back annual Tip-a-Cop event

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) has been juggling a lot between their regular duties and assisting with the "Aspen Acres" fire.

But that won't stop them from carrying out a big fundraising tradition this weekend. PCSO is putting on its annual Tip-a-Cop event at the Chili's in Eagle Ridge on Saturday July 19.

Deputies will be at the restaurant waiting tables with other law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes, according to PCSO.

Officials say all tips that are collected will go to Special Olympics athletes here in Southern Colorado.

The event is one of the flagship charities for PCSO, inspiring the bi-annual torch run and once-a-year polar plunge.

PCSO will be at the Chili's at 5600 N. Elizabeth St. from noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday.
