Human remains found near Lake Pueblo identified as missing Pueblo school custodian

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Pueblo County Coroner's Office has confirmed that human remains found on the edge of Lake Pueblo State Park have been identified as Adam Armstrong, an at-risk adult who went missing in July.

52-year-old Armstrong was reported missing on July 13, and the coroner says the circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation. However, the coroner did say that Armstrong appeared to be dead for a number of weeks when he was found.

According to the sheriff's office, Armstrong was reported missing from his Pueblo West home after he was last seen on Monday, July 13. Deputies described Armstrong as partially non-verbal, which increased concerns for his safety within the community.

Armstrong was a custodian at Liberty Point International in Pueblo West, where he was described as a "gentle giant."

KRDO13 reached out to Armstrong's family in the wake of the coroner's report. They told us the news was too difficult to talk about.
