Officials working to identify human remains found in Lake Pueblo State Park

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) says it is working to identify human remains that were found on the edge of Lake Pueblo State Park property Tuesday night.

According to officials, the remains were found near Liberty Point after officials responded to a 911 call about a possible body on Lake Pueblo property.

Officials say they will need to run additional forensic testing to identify the identity of the body due to the condition of the remains.

PCSO says it worked with Colorado Parks and Wildlife and Pueblo West firefighters on the call.

The Pueblo County Coroner's Office will release an identity and cause of death at a later time, officials say.
