EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) - A woman who is accused of throwing her neighbor's cat to her dogs, who then killed it, is due to appear in court this week.

In June, Ashley Losey was charged with multiple felony counts, including aggravated animal cruelty, for allegedly throwing a neighbor's cat to her dogs, who killed the feline.

"I can't speak upon it. It's cruel," Lindsey Hodges-Hough told KRDO13 back in June. Her son's cat was the victim.

In all, Losey is facing the following charges:

  • Aggravated Cruelty to Animals
  • Tampering with Evidence
  • Ownership of a Dangerous Dog (2 counts)
  • Child Abuse, no injury (2 counts)

Losey is set for a disposition hearing on Wednesday morning. According to the Colorado Legal Defense Group, a disposition hearing is when the defense decides if they want to accept a plea deal, go to trial, or ask the judge for more time to make a decision.

KRDO13 spoke to Losey over the phone to ask if she wanted to comment before the hearing and share her side of the story.

"If you want to have anything to say, then you can reach out to my attorney," Losey said. "I don't have anything to say at this point in time.

KRDO13 reached out to Losey's attorney, but hadn't heard back as of Tuesday night.
