Several fans upset after they say Weidner Field concert seat views left them staring at porta-potties, not the stage

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - The past two nights have been rocking at Weidner Field in downtown Colorado Springs.

On Thursday night, Jelly Roll closed out the night, and on Friday, it was Shinedown. However, some fans tell KRDO13 they were caught off guard when they got to their seat.

"Purple porta-potties were right in front of us. That was my first reaction. And then I thought, we paid all this money, and you can't even see the stage," Tracey Hance said.

She told KRDO13 that she and a friend paid $170 each to sit in section 112 for the concert. Hance said her tickets didn't mention an obstructed view, and the last time she went to a concert at Weidner Field, there was no structure in the middle of the field.

"We went to Lee Brice, and we've also been to Old Dominion. And then, the setup was way different. They had a pit back then, and there was no obstruction whatsoever," Hance said.

KRDO13 reached out to Weidner Field about these complaints from Hance and others. A spokesperson shared this statement:

"At Weidner Field, we are committed to providing the best possible fan experience. While the tickets in the affected section were identified as having an obstructed view on our official ticketing website SeatGeek, our staff made every effort to relocate guests to available seating to improve their viewing experience. We appreciate the feedback we received and remain committed to providing a positive experience for all of our guests."

When checking the SeatGeek map for Friday night's Shinedown concert, there is no clear marking to show which sections have obstructed views.

The warning about obstructed views is much clearer on the Weidner Field website. However, this map (as seen below) is only found under the 'Stadium Policies' tab and requires some clicking around for first-time site visitors.

"Jelly Roll was amazing. We stood the whole time, but if we could have sat, it probably would have been better," Hance said.

She and her friend ended up finding a spot to stand by a railing where they had an unobstructed view of the concert.
