Smoke from ‘Aspen Acres’ fire drifts into Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Fire Department is alerting residents that smoke from the "Aspen Acres" fire burning south of Colorado Springs is drifting into the city.

Fire officials said they have already received numerous 911 calls reporting the visible smoke.

The department is asking residents not to call 911 solely to report smoke, as crews are already aware of the wildfire and emergency resources remain actively engaged.

Officials urged the public to keep 911 available for emergencies.
