Veteran-owned company projected to bring 500 jobs to Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A veteran-owned aerospace and defense firm is expanding to Colorado Springs and is projected to bring 500 new and high-paying jobs to the city.

ITS will be located in Cimarron Hills, north of Colorado Springs Airport, and is known for its innovation in aerospace, defense, and cybersecurity

The CEO, Hassan Campbell is a veteran, and he tells us there will be a focus on hiring veterans with skills that can be harnessed and applied to the firm.

"We focus on what are those transferable skills, that can be used immediately. And then what are the what does the training look like to get those folks up to speed and, providing value day one. Because what they do have as they transition is, you know, high mission focus, a desire to, you know, to win in those spaces because they've been there in real life," says Campbell.

The firm works with the DOD Skillbridge Program and "Hiring our Heroes" to find highly motivated veterans who want to use their mission expertise.

"For us, it's important, that we focus on the military...it plays a critical, a special place, in, in my heart also, I mentioned earlier the executive team, they a lot of them also, served a lot of them are also academy grads as well. And so we never really took the uniform off."
