More than 100 illegal immigrants in custody after underground nightclub bust in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - The Rocky Mountain Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration reports they have arrested more than 100 illegal immigrants in a multi-agency effort in an underground night club.

They say they have seized guns and drugs in the operation. A video the DEA posted on X shows officers breaking into a window in a nightclub before hundreds of people start running out of the front doors.

KRDO13 spoke with the property owner, Mike Moon, who tells us he had leased out the property to another woman, who was running private events out of the space. He says her lease was set to expire at the end of the month.

He says he found his property in ruins this morning, with remnants of possible tear gas and the locks and windows busted on the property. He says he also found "little bags of drugs" while walking through the space this morning.

The DEA reports that they had investigated this "underground nightclub" over many months, and conducted the operation with numerous other law enforcement agencies. They say this underground nightclub was frequented by MS-13 gang members and Tren De Aragua gang members, as well as members of Bandidos Biker Gang.

Colorado Springs Police were part of the multi-agency effort. They made this statement:

"I want to be clear that it is the responsibility of the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) to investigate criminal activity and make arrests when appropriate. This operation was the result of a months-long investigation into serious criminal activity in our community," said Adrian Vasquez, Chief of Police for the Colorado Springs Police Department. While the investigation is ongoing, arrests for these criminal violations are expected. CSPD is aware that our federal partners also detained multiple people for suspected immigration violations during the operation. CSPD is not authorized to conduct immigration enforcement under Colorado law, and our participation in this operation was solely to address criminal violations affecting the safety of our community." - CSPD Spokesperson

The Army confirms that some Fort Carson service members were at the underground night club during the DEA bust.

The army provided ABC with this statement:

“Fort Carson leaders are aware of the Drug Enforcement Administration-led operation that occurred at an illegal night club in Colorado Springs early Sunday morning. We acknowledge that there were some Fort Carson service members present at the location during the operation. Each person involved in this incident is presumed innocent until proven guilty. We will look at everyone’s situation on a case-by-case basis. Illegal activities of any kind do not represent our military values. We will continue to work in coordination with our federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to ensure our community is safe.”

Army officials would not confirm how many service members were present during the bust.

The Army Criminal Investigation Division added that they were aware of the DEA investigation and said they could not provide additional information at this time.

Editor's note: A previous version of this story said the nightclub was frequently visited by Hell's Angels. The DEA has since corrected its information, saying that it was actually Bandidos Biker Gang.
