Evacuation orders canceled as Ellicott fire is contained
ELLICOTT, Colo. (KRDO) - The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says evacuations have been canceled after a fire broke out in Ellicott.
At 4:02 p.m. the sheriff's office issued an Evacuation Order for Highway 94 west to Ellicott Highway, south to Henderson Road, east to Calhan Highway in Ellicott due to the fire, which is near 27000 Sanborn Road, the sheriff's office said.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) said it was closely monitoring the fire, but assistance was not requested.
One man caught the smoke on his way out from work in Ellicott.
"Upon getting off work, and walking out, I saw smoke and headed this way instead of going home. And all of a sudden there was fire. I mean, huge," Chadwick Britton, a resident said. "Two trucks [were] working. And I've been here since."
Britton says him and his coworkers sent out water trucks to help firefighters get the flames under control after seeing the smoke around 3:30 that afternoon, and he's thankful the situation wasn't worse.
