Crash shuts down I-25 Southbound near Pikes Peak International Raceway

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - The Colorado Department of Transportation says a major crash shut down I-25 around 7 a.m. Sunday morning. Lanes re-opened at about 10:00 a.m.

UPDATE: The road has now been cleared. Colorado State Patrol confirmed that the accident was fatal. They say one other party was transported to the hospital. They say they do not have a preliminary report yet.

I-25 is closed between Exit 123 - Clear Spring Ranch and Exit 122 - Pikes Peak International Raceway.

Detours are in place for travelers.

Crews on the scene say one car crashed into the median. CDOT workers are working to get the scene cleaned up.
