Shooting victim identified from homicide in Downtown Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is still looking for the suspect(s) in a shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning in Downtown Colorado Springs.

The El Paso County Coroner has now identified the deceased victim of the shooting as 44-year-old Dieter Gayfield. His death is being investigated as a homicide.

CSPD said they received reports of shots fired just after 2 a.m. Wednesday outside the Supernova Arcade Bar near Boulder Street and North Nevada Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found one individual had sustained at least one gunshot wound. The victim died at the scene.
