City worker hit by car near intersection of East Platte Avenue and North Academy Boulevard

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs Police responded to a traffic incident involving a car and a city worker near the intersection of East Platte Avenue and North Academy Boulevard just after 9 a.m.

According to Colorado Springs Police, the city worker was putting up road work signs in the area when they were hit by an oncoming car. The worker has been transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the driver was cited on-scene for the traffic collision and no arrests were made. Westbound 3900 Platte Avenue was closed during the investigation. The roadway has been reopened.
