Pueblo State of the City focuses on crime prevention and homelessness

Pueblo, COLORADO. (KRDO)-- This morning, the City of Pueblo hosted its annual State of the City address.

The address highlighted that crime is one of the city's biggest problems, although there was a thirteen percent drop in crime in the last year.

To help address the problem, the city is continuing work on the Real Time Crime Center and hiring more police officers.

The city's homelessness is another big problem.

"We're going to try to put some of these vacant houses back into productive use so that some affordable housing will be available for individuals. Hopefully, that will help us solve the homeless problem," says Mayor Gradisar who also hopes to increase mental health services for homeless individuals.
