Florissant Fire Rescue giving away free Christmas trees

FLORISSANT, Colo. (KRDO) -- Florissant Fire Rescue's "Mitigation Posse" is offering free Christmas trees at Santa's Café event.

Florissant Fire Rescue is hosting the event at Florissant Fire Station 1, Highway 24 on December 2-3, 9-10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Guests can pick out a free Christmas Tree, enjoy holiday music, photo op, and a chili or chili dog lunch along with homemade desserts. The family-friendly event offers guests time to connect with the Florissant Fire Protection District.

Trees given to families have been harvested to make forested lands safer.
