Pueblo PD: warrant arrests lead to recovery of numerous firearms and drugs
PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) - The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) reported Monday that they recently made a large drug bust that also resulted in the recovery of 25 firearms, eight of which were listed as stolen.
According to the PPD, detectives contacted and arrested two men on outstanding warrants at a residence on West Routt Ave. on Oct. 20. Detectives reported being able to see guns, suspected narcotics, and drug paraphernalia inside vehicles in the backyard of the residence. A search warrant was requested a signed by a judge.
The PPD said a search of three vehicles uncovered 25 firearms, of which there were 15 handguns, five rifles, three shotguns, and "numerous rounds for each firearm." Eight of the recovered weapons were listed as stolen. A rifle-rated bulletproof vest and two conversion kits for making weapons fully automatic were also recovered according to the department.
Along with the firearms, the PPD said varying weights of fentanyl pills, methamphetamine, cocaine, and psilocybin mushrooms were also recovered.
