Hot heading into the weekend

Hotter temperatures ahead as we roll into the Labor Day weekend.

TODAY: As high pressure builds across the region temperatures will warm today into the upper-80s and mid-90s. Chances for showers and thunderstorms remain very low with a few showers over the higher terrain west of I-25.

TONIGHT: Clear and cool overnight with Thursday morning lows dipping into the low-60s.

EXTENDED: Hot temperatures heading into the Labor Day weekend... with highs soaring into the 90s and triple digits Thursday and Friday. Monsoon moisture begins working into the region on Friday and through the weekend. Most of the showers and thunderstorms will be focused on the higher terrain west of Colorado Springs. A cold front will bring temperatures back into the 80s and low-90s for Labor Day on Monday.
