Fort Carson to host ‘Hiring our Heroes Summit’ job fair Aug. 30-31
FORT CARSON, Colo. (KRDO)-- A two-day ‘Hiring our Heroes Summit’ job fair event is coming to Fort Carson for service members, their families, and veterans.
The job fair will be held on Wednesday, August 30, through Thursday, August 31, and is designed to help those who are currently serving, those who have served in the past, and those who want to reintegrate into the workforce.
Officials with Fort Carson state participating for the Summit are highly encouraged for service members who are within 18 months of separation from the military.
On Aug. 30, the ‘Hiring our Heroes Summit’ will begin with a social-networking opportunity for fair-goers at the Elkhorn from 5-7 p.m.
It will be open to community partners, employers, transitioning service members, and their spouses.
Thursday, August 31, there will be two events.
The first will be from 9-12 p.m. at the McMahon Auditorium and will include seminars on topics related to the career fair. Officials state there will be keynote speakers, industry panels, and transition-related workshops.
The second half of the job fair will be from 1-4 p.m., at the William Reed Special Event Center.
Officials state more than 85 employers from government and private businesses will be scheduled to attend the Summit.

As a reminder, county, state, and federal civilian concealed carry permits are not recognized or valid on Fort Carson.
All weapons brought onto the installation must be registered with the Provost Marshal’s Office at building 2700 in accordance with U.S. Army and Fort Carson regulations and policy.
Only law enforcement personnel in the performance of official duties may possess a concealed weapon on Fort Carson.
Finally, despite the Colorado amendment legalizing recreational marijuana, use or possession of marijuana on a federal installation is a violation of federal law.
