Fort Carson honors fallen soldiers at the Mountain Post Warrior Memorial

FORT CARSON, Colo. (KRDO) -- Ahead of Memorial Day Weekend, Fort Carson honored fallen soldiers who've lost their lives while deployed.

The ceremony was held Thursday morning at the Mountain Post Warrior Memorial in Kit Carson Park.

Since 2004, officials said Fort Carson has commemorated soldiers from the Mountain Post who've made the ultimate sacrifice. A total of 407 names of fallen military service members have been inscribed on the memorial stone.

This year, no new names were added.
