Colorado Springs veterinarian accused of trying to arrange sex with a 14-year-old girl in Arizona
COCHISE COUNTY, Ariz. (KRDO) -- A Colorado Springs veterinarian faces criminal charges after he allegedly tried coordinating sex with a minor in Arizona.
Homeland Security told KRDO that Scott Bormanis was arrested on May 10. During that arrest, a cell phone was seized, and Bormanis was subsequently charged with Aggravated Luring of a Minor, Luring a Minor for Sexual Exploitation, and Attempt to Commit Sexual Conduct with a Minor.
According to Homeland Security, "Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents from Douglas began investigating Scott Bormanis of Colorado on May 2."
The department said the investigation into Bormanis was led by HSI Douglas, along with the Sierra Vista Police Department (SVPD), US Army CID, and Cochise County Sheriff's Office.
HSI said the investigation was part of a larger operation to "identify and arrest subjects looking to sexually exploit children in and around southern Arizona."
Bormanis' case is being prosecuted in Cochise County, Ariz.
