COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) is asking for the community's help in taking care of dozens of cats and kittens that were rescued in Colorado Springs.

The HSPPR said Wednesday, the Animal Law Enforcement team was alerted to 64 cats living in a home. The cats range in age from kittens to 18 years old.

According to officials, many of the felines have medical conditions that require treatment, including upper respiratory infections, ear infections, mites, and dental disease.

To properly care for the cats, the HSPPR's Colorado Springs shelter had to utilize its emergency sheltering. According to the HSPPR, the resources needed for this large influx of animals are draining and the shelter relies on help from the community.

The HSPPR said donating helps them care for these 64 cats and other homeless, abused, and neglected pets in the community.

To help the shelter, click here to donate through PayPal. People can also donate on Facebook here. That fundraiser will be open for the next eight days.

The HSPPR thanks everyone who helps give the cats a happier, healthier life.
