Overnight road closure of I-25 at South Academy Blvd. coming this weekend

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will close northbound I-25 lanes over South Academy Blvd. this coming Friday night.

The northbound lane closure is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 4, from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. CDOT said northbound I-25 traffic will utilize the off and on-ramps at Exit 135 to continue north.

CDOT expects minimal delays.

Southbound Academy Blvd. lanes will also be closed Friday, Nov. 4, and Sat., Nov. 5 under I-25 to place winter weather protection in preparation for the upcoming bridge deck pour. These closures are scheduled for 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m as well.

Eastbound South Academy Blvd. traffic will be diverted south on I-25 to Colorado Highway 16, where they will turn around and re-enter I-25 north to South Academy Blvd.

Westbound South Academy Blvd. traffic will be diverted north on I-25 to Lake Ave./South Circle Dr., where they will turn around and re-enter I-25 south to South Academy Blvd.
